About

Unlock Arcana is originally a simple journal of my journey in tarot reading and mediumship, but it's growing day by day into other related interests: astrology, feng shui, dream meanings, angel numbers, and manifesting.

This site is now something like a digital version of my Book of Light. ✨

What got you into tarot and are you a medium?

I started learning tarot back when I was in high school. I used it as a means of reading other people's intentions (aka red flag detector lol), as well as an aid in giving insights into whatever dilemma my close friends were having at that time which I have no clue what to say, I just wanted to be there for them.

I also use it to help interpret my dreams. Usually, I ask my dad's help when it comes to that but since I moved into a dorm then and lived solo 8 hours away from my family (not to mention, calling and texting cost quite a bit too -- there weren't free online messaging apps back then), I was left to figure things out on my own.

Hence, tarot it is.

Back then I didn't know where to buy tarot cards in my area. I was also in a strict all-girls Catholic school where these kinds of stuff were highly discouraged and I risk having these confiscated. So I secretly made my very 1st deck out of black Carolina.

Now I'm so glad that tarot and oracle decks are more accessible than before, and I have the freedom to be open about them now. :)

Eventually, a few of my friends got interested in it too and started requesting readings, and that's where I got deeper into tarot reading.

Note: I DON'T do paid readings for the public. Only to a close circle of people and in social media and for FREE.

I've noticed that the more I read for others, the less I'm able to read now for myself. But that's okay. There are a lot of gifted tarot readers out there.

Back then my favorite was SheBear (left). I felt sad when she stopped doing tarot completely and abandoned her channel, but at the same time glad that she found a new path that resonates more with her. We're on different journeys and whatever our soul needs to grow, that's what's best.

Now my favorites are Minnow Pond (center) and 303 High Priestess (right). Actually got surprised when eventually I found out that all these 3 are fellow Pisces ♓ No wonder their readings resonated well with me.

Tarot helped me a lot in gaining different perspectives. Lately, I've been using it, along with subliminals and affirmations, to help me tap my subconscious mind further as well as interact with Spirit Guides.

Speaking of Spirit Guides, despite being a triple Pisces (they said having that placement = psychic abilities. I say it's just terribly exhausting just being extra sensitive and all),  no I don't really consider myself a psychic or medium.

I'm just an ordinary intuitive individual -- I think we all have that ability: that tingly sense we can't "scientifically" explain.

For now.

astrology natal chart
For those into astrology -- your insights about my chart are welcome (please don't be too harsh ðŸ˜).

I can't directly communicate with dead relatives and other spirits like typical mediums either especially someone like Tyler. I'd love to have an opportunity to learn how to commune with more and more shadow people I've been sensing.

Could be nothing. Could be something post-pandemic related.

I could also sense my sleep paralysis demon -- slash -- guardian spirit being... I'm not really sure of the right term, but overworked (?) lately. Dunno if it's from protecting me or if he also helps these lost souls cross the next life. He saved my life many times in the past (because my sheer carelessness makes me a danger to myself lol).

I call him Mr. Top Hat Man.

More about him and my personal experiences regarding shadow people in separate future posts.

What got you into astrology, feng shui, angel numbers, and LOA?

My dad has been a great influence on me both in astrology and interpreting dreams. Though we both believe in free will and our ability to achieve whatever we set our mind to (this is where LOA comes in), astrology is just there like weather and seasons: there's a time for planting, a time for lying low, and a time for harvest. Following this natural timing or rhythm and not trying hard to resist the tide just makes life easier.

A close friend and an ex both have been influential too in astrology and interpreting dream meanings. My current significant other is the logic-based skeptical kind -- he keeps me grounded though and I love how he's supportive of whatever I'm into even if he's not into them himself: in fact, he's the one who came up with the name of the Youtube channel and this site, as well as the one who designed its logo (thanks!💕).

Regarding feng shui, older Chinese relatives and neighbors (don't laugh) influenced me into it. But it was only around 2017-2018 when I started taking it seriously while my S.O. and I were in the process of preparing our new home.

Come to think of it, feng shui is pretty much common sense -- be aligned with the natural chi or energy of a place. But I'm still mindblown at how big its impact is, especially after experiencing the harmful effects of not following good feng shui while growing up.

My parents and I used to rent an apartment with the main bedroom we sleep in right near an electrical post (🚩 very bad feng shui).

Bedroom doors in that apartment were opposite each other (🚩 another bad feng shui ) and a window was near the mentioned electric post. That bedroom also has a direct view of the kitchen downstairs (🚩 I just found out recently that it's also bad).

There's also a large mirror staring right at our stairs and that portrait of running horses in the living room which disturbed me a lot but couldn't pinpoint why (🚩🚩🚩 but now I know why, my gawd..).

Next thing we know, my mom got institutionalized -- even though no one on the side of her family has that ailment, so it isn't the genetic kind. We see-saw between being normal one day and struggling financially the next. My parents fought a lot too. Like a LOT.

My parents aren't into it, so I grew up not even knowing about feng shui until a few years ago. Looking back at the times when we moved and lived in different places with bad feng shui, everything just suddenly clicked.

Seeing how underrated -- and even unknown and alien -- feng shui is to most people, it inspired me to share my learnings with others.

So instead of initially doing tarot-related stuff on the Youtube channel as planned, I ended up sharing feng shui tips first instead lol.

Regarding manifesting, both my dad and I have been into the latter a lot since I was a kid. That's why he doesn't want me to watch horror stuff.  As I grew older, I then regularly remind him to avoid the evening news already.

I resonate with Neville Goddard's Law of Assumption, although I still struggle from time to time regarding delays and unusual reality shifts. Hence, I focus more on gratitude nowadays and simple exercises such as this (one of my favorites) by Andrea Schulman.

When it comes to angel numbers, I started noticing them popping here and there more when I began some 3rd eye-opening exercises -- that's also when I started sensing shadow people more and Mr. Top Hat Man even during waking state outside lucid dreaming (no more inducing sleep paralysis lol). I have quite a handful of interesting experiences connected to different angel numbers I've repeatedly seen beforehand.

More about all these in future posts!

Love & light ~
